January 2015 about 17% of Portland's taxi cabs lined up to protest the rideshare service Uber. Obviously they felt like it was a good cause. They could have been out making money. You know, that green stuff that feeds the family and pays the mortgage. It's the only reason people go to work. Don't be fooled if someone tells you differently.

As a taxi cab service in College Station do we detest Uber? No, we live in the land of opportunity. Do we feel the same rules for taxicabs should be applied to Uber? Yes. Don't make rules if they are not equally applied to all in the same niche. Overhead to own a taxi service is not cheap. The cost of insurance alone is pricey. The sole reason taxi's are a tiny bit more expensive than Uber.
Since the onset of Uber our business has felt the economic impact on a large scale. Simple and true. It doesn't mean we totally despise Uber like some we know in the taxi biz. It simply means we have to try new techniques and ideas to give the consumer what they want. Good quality service at a fair price.
