Grub Burger Bar
Grub Burger is located on East University Drive about a mile from Texas A&M. The chili cheese & fries burger has been mentioned a lot. The fries are on top of the patty in the hamburger itself, not on the side. Tracy J. who is a student at A&M from Iowa, and a vegetarian said "the hippie chickpea burger is yummy, and so are the sweet potato fries..." Grub Burger also has a bar with 9 or 10 beers on draft, and superb alcoholic milkshakes.
Dixie Chicken
The Dixie Chicken bar & grill at Northgate District has been around for decades, and so has the cook. Last I heard the menu is bigger and better. They have a couple dozen burger choices on the menu. Most are typical, but they also have some unique burgers to choose from. The onion rings are a popular menu item, unless of course you're on a first date. I'm almost certain Mondays are still half price burgers. Big selection of beer. Locally owned.
Willies Grill & Icehouse
Willies large menu has quite a few choices, but we're here to talk about burgers. During peak hours there might be a waiting line. That tells you the food is good. One of the best bacon cheese burgers I've had lately. Willies also has a hickory cheddar cheese burger with BBQ sauce & grilled onions. The black n blue burger with peppercorn and bleu cheese was given a big thumbs by Jeremy who works at Post Oak Mall in College Station.
Mickey's Sliders
What is a slider? A small sandwich or hamburger on a bun. Mickey's in College Station has some of the best. They also have the best reviews for all burger restaurants around. The Willie Nelson has Angus beef with applewood smoked bacon. The Volcano Slider is a beef patty, cheddar cheese,with chili. Not only do they have other beef items on the menu, they also have nice variety of other tasty sliders. Chicken breast, pulled pork, steak etc.
